do you think that the old Canadian National Railway (CN) hotels in canda deserve to be a world heritage site?
i am meaning buildings like the delta Bessborough, Château Frontenac, Place Viger, Fairmont Royal York, Chateau Lake Louise, Banff Springs Hotel, Hotel Macdonald. i am meaning the old chateau buildings, many of them are world famous and have a deep history. what do you think?
No.
They are merely engines of commerce. A means for a corporation to make lots of money. When they get too old, bulldoze them for something new.
Don’t get me wrong. I love those old hotels, but don’t see them as world heritage sites. By the way, many were Canadian Pacific Hotels, not CN.
Of course! What a silly question.
most of these are old cp rail hotels they have to be declared heritage sites the majority are now fairmont hotels . i worked on the cprail / via rail had the good fortune to be able to visit . they are heritage sites no question . provincial or national sites . great golf courses also
