We bought them but haven’t been on a trip yet, so I gave it 4 stars. The pillow seems to work when we are sitting on the couch and we are looking forward to a trip to try them out!

Used the TravelRest to and from London. Much better than a horseshoe type pillow. Wrapping around yourself rather than the seat is the most practical deployment–that way you don’t need to “invade” your neighbor’s private space. I’d would have liked to see a larger version (lengthwise) because it seemed a little tight on a big guy.

  • I bought two of these for a trip to Hawaii (actually more for the red-eye return). Using this, great earplugs (see review for HEAROS), and an inflatable cushion (Therma-Reat) allowed me to sleep for the first time. I have made this trip five times and never slept a wink. This time I slept about five hours of the eight hour return trip. My wife loved it too and has used it in the car.

  • I purchased the TravelRest for a trip I was taking at the end of 2009. I’ve never been able to easily sleep on a plane, as my head would always fall forward and I’d wake up, or I’d get a stiff neck from leaning my head back. The TravelRest alleviated this problem! As it states, it took only 3-4 breaths to blow it up, and I positioned it like the picture shows so that my head leaned against the top part of the “pillow”. I was able to sleep without my head falling forward or off to the side. I did have a window seat, so I comfortably leaned toward the window as opposed to the person sitting next to me – I’m not sure if I could be as comfortable using it if I had a middle seat or an aisle seat. Guess it depends on how self-conscious you are if you are sitting next to a stranger.
