Product DescriptionWhy did the ancients align their monuments so precisely with the stars? What were the practical and symbolic reasons behind these mysterious configurations? From the author of The Orion Mystery, the best-selling book that introduced the revolutionary star-correlation theory about the Giza pyramids, The Egypt Code reveals an amazing Grand Unified Plan behind the legendary temples of upper Egypt. Robert Bauval, one of the world’s most prominent and controversial Egy. . . More >>

1. The statute of the Pharaoh of Djoser in the serdab (Memphis Necropolis, 2650 BC) is oriented 4 deg 35 min East of North and points at the star, Al Kaid in the Big Dipper , also known as Ursa Major or Great Bear or the Plough. To the East of statute, Sirius rises from the East, “Horus is the Star at the Head of the Sky”, “Horus in the Horizon”, “The God in the East”. Horus is marked as the rising of Sirius in the east by the Statute. The star Sirius marked the beginning of the Flood season of the Nile.
2. Orisis is identified as the constellation Orion and Isis is identified with the constellation Canis Major. Was Horus a star that was seen born from Orisis and Isis? Yes.
3. The belief that the Pharaoh could control the cosmos from a chamber within or attached to his pyramid complex was valid to the Egyptians. The Pharaoh was represented God-Man controlling a representation of the Cosmos cycle and in particular the Nile.
4. The big dipper is depicted on the thigh of a bull and sometimes surround by seven stars.
5. Pyramids of Snefreru, Khufu, Dededfret, Nebre indicate stellar connotations while those of Sahure, Neferirkare and Neferefre describe the stellar destination of the soul.
6. The constellation Orion, Pleiades, Leo, the Sun, and milkyway are projections from the sky hemisphere to the earth where the Nile is the angular projection of the milkyway where angular displacements are ratio distances between pyramids representing stars in the constellations. The three pyramids of Giza represent Orion’s belt, the Abusir pyramids represent Pleiades constellation, Heliopolis pyramids represent Leo constellation – Sun temple (Summer Solstice). The observer at Letopolis watches the 90 day march of the sun from below Pleiades constellation to a point below Leo constellation marked on the earth by the line joining Abu Ghorab pyramid and Heliopolis pyramid. The Sphinx also watches the march of the sun between its paws between Pleiades and Leo constellations. The Nile dissecting the viewer from the constellation projects of Pleiades and Leo or between Letopolis and (Heliopolis and Abu Ghorab).
7. The suns 90 day journey starts in Pleiades (21 Mar – Spring Equinox) and concludes Leo (21 Jun – Summer Solstice)
8. Long term cycles: Sothic cycle, 1,460 years, New Year’s Day with the heliacal rising of Sirius. Great Solar Cycle, 1,506 years with New Year’s Day with the summer solstice. Great year, 26,000 years, completion of the precession cycle.
9. Short term cycles: 1 day = solar day, 360 days = solar cycle, 365. 25 days = Sothic year (two heliacal risings of Sirius).
10. Egyptians believed a heavenly force or power regulated the movements of the constellations in the sky and the changing of seasons. Survival depended on the regulation of the Nile. By strict adherence to the Maat the Pharaoh regulated the orderly flooding of the Nile.
11. Nut (sky goddess) was associated with resurrection and the dead were believed to become stars in the body of the goddess.
12. The Lower meridian transit of the Plough takes place in the North exactly the same time as the rising of Orion’s belt in the East. The pyramids of Giza were aimed at a star Kochab or Mizar in the Plough because the star was a time marker indicating when Orion’s belt in the east would be rising.
13. We need to gain respect for the natural world
14. The Earth is filled with resources.
15. We need to be good keepers rather than masters of the Earth’s resources
16. The Earth is a gift. The Earth has unlimited energy, food, and resources, however, if seek power then we will plunder and destroy the system.
17. Egypt was a symbolic temple of the cosmos and the pyramids were of that representation. The star temples and sun temples were aligned to the star and sun in horizons.
18. We want to achieve a sense of cosmic order and harmony and live peacefully. We don’t want to blindly move towards nuclear Armageddon and other annihilating force because of power. We want to be an integral part of nature, live in harmony, and maintain balance in the system.
19. We don’t want to live by complex dogma or live in fear of threats or wrath.
20. The appearance of Sirius on the eastern horizon marked the beginning of the Niles annual inundation and the beginning of the agricultural year.
21. Winter solstice begins Jun 21 and runs until 21 Dec. 365 days separate summer solstice from winter solstice. 365. 2422 days are in a Sothic year. Every four years, we add one day to the month of February. Sothic cycle equal 365/0. 24 = 1460 years.
22. The distance between Giza Khufu and Menkaura is 928. 33 meters (2. 75 * 337 meters) where the angle between Al Nitak and Mintaka is 2. 75 degrees. The distance from Abu Ghorab to Heliopolis is 27,000 meters and the sun travels from Mar 21 to Jun 21, a quarter of the 360 degree circuit or 90 degrees where 1 angular distance in the sky equals 333 meters on the ground. The distance from Giza to Abusir is 11,420 meters and the angular distance from Orion belt to Pleiades is 35 degree or 326 meters per degree.
23. The Message of the Sphinx. The pyramid builders were interested in Orion and the 70 days it spend in the underworld Duat. Orion rises in the east at dawn (Heliacal rising). Between Mar 21 and Jun 1, Orion is invisible in the Duat. For three week Sirius rises from the underworld and the Sun now travels between the paws of Leo. Heliopolis for now represents the Constellation of Leo. The combining of the Sun and the Constellation of Leo is referred to a Ra-Horakhti. Hold that the Sun enters the Duat at the Constellation of Pleides (Abu Ghorab) and travels to Leo (Heliopolis) and exits the Duat. The observer at the Sphinx would see the sun travel between the paws. The Pharoah power to control the Nile would become more powerful.
24. Heliopolis is the most sacred city to Ra-Horakhti (benben, rebirth of the sun). Heliopolis has been called the “Ra-Horus of the Horizon”, “the Horizon of Heaven”. The Great Sphinx has been called Horakhti or “Horus in the Horizon”. The Dead pharaoh would join Horakhti in the horizon at dawn when the Nile was flood. The Sphinx symbolized the merger of the sun god with Horakhti, Leo.
25. For crops to flourish the Nile should rise about eight meters above a zero point at the first cataract near Aswan. The Egyptians believed the flood water originated at Elephantine Island because of their Deity Khnum, who was thought to control the Nile. The Egyptians observed that the rise of Orion and Canis major (Orisis and Isis) took place at the start of the flood season. The Sun’s path overlapping the constellation of Leo, Summer Solstice, June 21, the rising of the Nile. The rise of Sirius in the Horizon marked the official start of the flood season. The water represented the birth water, out of the womb of Isis, Horus was born.

just a regurgitation of what he has written before – looks to be just a pure money grab: a new title for an old book (the Orion Mystery, which is excellent)

This book is worth reading I recommend it. This book provides a well-researched explanation of many of the Egyptian building customs. The author solidifies his case for the alignment of structures using the stars as a pattern. There is still that nagging feeling that not all of the many clues in ancient Egypt have been taken into account. The book builds its case upon star alignment and written text. The book does not take into account conflicting evidence that some of the Egyptian buildings may have been built earlier. Nor does the book attempt to explain how the massive projects could have been built by ancient peoples without a technology that modern builders would have difficulty employing but just accepts that they were built.

An excellent text book based on a massive amount of solid research. This presents a much more plausible explanation of ancient Egyptian – and human – civilisation, than is currently taught. Having devoted a lot of research in previous writings to establish how the 3 Great Pyramids at Giza could not have been built with the technology available at the time claimed by classical Egyptologists, I was surprised at his complete reversal on page 128. But that does not detract from his conclusion that humanity needs to understand what he terms ‘The Egypt Code’ if we are to continue to survive on this planet.

The mysteries of the tombs, pyramids, and beliefs of the Egyptians continues to spark iconoclastic theories. “The Egypt Code: A Grand Plan” is a provocatively informative book wherein author Robert Bauval presents his “grand unified theory” which shows how from earliest times beginner around 3000 BC to the closure of the Egyptian civilization with the death of Cleopatra and the dominant control of Rome in 30 BC, the pharaohs correlated what they saw in the sky to what they built on the ground. Fascinating perspectives and thoughts lending to this theory that not only did Egyptians mirror on the ground what they saw in the sky, but that the changes in the sky landscape, matches the changes on the ground, for example the size and placement of a pyramid. “The Egypt Code: A Grand Plan” presents an articulate and thought provoking set of ideas and explanations, which will bring about great discussions for some time to come. Recommended for public and Egyptology and Metaphysical Studies collections, “The Egypt Code: A Grand Plan” is a fascinating read that is as thoughtful as it is thought provoking.
